The FCPX Colorist brings professional color grading tools to Final Cut Pro X users. Now, editors can adjust curves, hue, saturation and color levels like never before without ever having to open another color grading software.
Each FCPX Colorist Tool installs into Final Cut Pro X as a seperate filter in the Final Cut Pro X Effects library. This modular set-up allows users to stack, combine and re-arrange multiple filters on their footage to achieve endless looks.
FCPX Colorist introduces curve color correcting to Final Cut Pro X. The Custom Curves Tool allows users to adjust the tone and color of their image along the Red, Blue and Green color channels. The Hue-Saturation tool allows Colorist users to increase or decrease the saturation for a specific color range. This tool can be used to create stylized looks like the Sin City effect, in which everything is black and white except for reds.
Users never have to worry about re-creating the perfect look from scratch. Once a user has one of the Tools looking the way they want it, they can export the settings as a custom preset file, which can later be loaded on to other clips.

Fcpx Colorist Free Download
First of all, what version of FCPX are you running? If you're at 10.1.2, great, stay there. DO NOT update to 10.1.3, I just did and it's killing me.
As to the actual process to get from FCPX to Davinci:
DaVinci suggests for you to do this in preparation before you export the XML and send the files:
1. Move Clips to the Lowest Video Track
2. Organize Unsupported Media Files (.gif files or freeze frames are not supported, other unsupported generators, or title objects also will not display in Resolve) and move these onto its own isolated track that can be turned off
3. Create an Offline Reference Movie for the Colorist to compare to
4. If you have Mixed Frame Sizes and Mixed Codecs in your FCPX project, make sure you note those and let your colorist know
5. If you have Mixed Frame Rates, your colorist needs to set the pop-up in settings to 'Final Cut Pro X' as the method to conform to.
Go to File>Export XML

Metadata is how much info you want to send to your colorist
Save that file. It will be a .fcpxml that DaVinci Resolve file can open.
Raw loops.
You send the XML file and the hard drive with all the original media to your colorist. Note the folder system so you can tell him where to look for the original media.
Your colorist will import the XML file and Resolve will then link to all the media on the HD!
Make sure as you import that the right settings are set. There are best practices laid out in the Resolve 11 User Manual.
